Account Setup and Ordering
Do I have to have a business to buy your syrups, or can I buy syrups for my personal use?
If you are ordering syrups from this website, yes. The Syrup Shop is set up for tax-exempt items only. In order for our products to be exempt from sales tax, we can only sell products to customers who will not be using for their own direct use. Since shops and other businesses use our syrups to make other products that are sold to their customers, they qualify for tax exemption. They just need to fill out their state’s tax-exemption form during the account registration process.
If you do not have a business but want to buy Flavor Burst syrups for your own use, contact one of our Taylor Company distributors. Some of them will still carry Flavor Burst or can submit an order on your behalf. You can even request their order be shipped directly to you.
Does my business have to be in the USA to set up an account?
For now, yes. Things like tax rules, food laws, shipping costs, tariffs and customs make it complicated and expensive to fulfill international orders. For the time being, we can only ship to businesses within the US.
I just submitted my information and tax-exempt form for registration. How long do I have to wait till my account is approved?
Typically accounts are approved in 1-2 business days. We are closed in the evenings and on weekends, so if an account is requested late on Friday, it will likely be approved early the following week.
Is this the only place I can buy syrups?
Many of our Taylor Company distributors are still willing to process syrup orders, and some even carry stock of your favorite flavors. If your local distributor is no longer selling syrups and you would still like to order through a distributor and not online with us, feel free to contact us and ask which distributors still sell / carry Flavor Burst syrups. We will be happy to send you their contact information.
Can I buy other products from you, like Flavor Burst equipment, base mixes, parts, and advertising materials?
At this time, no. The Syrup Shop is set up for tax-exempt items only. In order for our products to be exempt from sales tax, we can only sell products to customers who will not be using for their own direct use. Since our syrups are used to make other products that are then sold to other customers, they qualify for tax exemption. Equipment, parts, and advertising materials would not be something that’s sold to a shop’s customer, and therefore don’t qualify for sales tax exemption. We may eventually add in our JavaLatte and Neutral Base mixes to the site since they are our brand, but most shops will get their favorite base mixes directly from those manufacturers.
If you need Flavor Burst equipment, base mix, parts or adverising materials, please contact your local Taylor Company distributor. They will be happy to supply you with your needs.

Can I pick up my syrup order and avoid shipping fees?
If you are interested in picking up syrups, contact us before ordering to set up a pick-up appointment. Pick up location is only available at our Danville, IN warehouse during business hours.
How soon will my order be shipped?
Orders are typically processed within 1-3 business days, and then shipped.
Do you ship outside the USA?
Not at this time. Taxes, food laws, shipping costs, tariffs and customs make it difficult to process and ship orders internationally. For the time being, we can only ship to businesses within the US.
Syrup Information
Do I have to use Flavor Burst brand syrups with my Flavor Burst system? Or can I use my own syrups?
Use only Flavor Burst branded syrups with Flavor Burst systems. Using syrups that have not been tested and approved by Flavor Burst can result in equipment damage, void the Flavor Burst warranty, and create end products that don’t have the Flavor Burst quality look or taste.
Flavor Burst syrups are unique in many ways:
– Our syrup’s viscosity is not too thick and not too thin to flow through the pumps and syrup lines and to keep pace with the flow rate of the freezer.
– They have high concentration of both flavor and color to produce the right taste and look of finished product. This also means a little goes a long way, yielding hundreds of servings per bag, maximizing your profits.
– Each syrup has a long 2-year shelf-life with no need for refrigeration.
– They are Halal and Kosher certification.
– Our syrups have been tested and used in the market for many years with countless happy consumers.
What’s the difference between the Stripe, Blend, and Beverage syrups and are they interchangeable?
Stripe syrups are formulated to work with the Flavor Burst striping soft serve systems. They have a special formulation that gels on contact with the soft serve and holds that beautiful stripe on the cone. The syrup bag fitment is only compatible with striping systems. It will also fit Flavor Blend systems and Premium Beverage systems, but the syrup is not made to blend thoroughly or have enough concentration of flavor to make the necessary impact when blended with the mix.
Blend syrups are formulated specifically to mix thoroughly and evenly with product, producing a solid color frozen treat. They also have a higher concentration of flavor and color, which is needed when blended with base mixes. Blend syrup bags have a fitment that is compatible with Flavor Blend, Premium Beverage, and Flavor Burst striping systems. While blend syrups will work with a striping system, we recommend using the original stripe syrup with a striping system because there is more flavor varieties to choose from and the formulation of flavor and color is balanced specifically for that system.
Beverage syrups are also higher in concentration and flavor than the striping syrups, and are formulated to blend with base beverage mixes. The fitments on the bags are only compatible with the Standard Beverage systems, and will not fit the Premium Beverage systems – a newer beverage system, designed for a slightly better blended look than the standard system. While the blend may or may not be as even, the Standard Beverage system has many more flavors to choose from.
Do these syrups need to be stored in a fridge?
No. While our syrups are shelf stable for up to 2 years and do not require refrigeration, it is recommended that they be kept in a room temperature environment.
Do the syrups ever expire or go bad?
Each syrup has a 2-year shelf life from the manufacture date. Check the syrup bag label for the expiration date. We recommend keeping the syrups in a room-temperature environment.
Also, if a syrup has been sitting in the syrup lines and 9-tube assembly for several days, it may begin to lose flavor and/or color. Be sure to periodically do a short pump flush to ensure the syrup in the lines are fresh for the next serving.
If you are not going to use the Flavor Burst system for an extended period of time (ie, during the colder winter months), be sure to winterize the unit according to the operations manual. Do not leave syrup in the lines for this extended time, as it will dry up and clog the pumps and lines. This could lead to permanent damage of parts and require replacements.
Are these syrups Kosher certified?
Yes! Click here to view the Kosher certificate.
Are these syrups Halal certified?
Yes! Click here to view the Halal certificate.
Are these syrups all-natural?
Our syrups contain natural and artificial ingredients.
Are these syrups gluten-free?
Yes! All of our syrups are gluten-free, but other parts of your treat may not be — the ice cream mix, cone, and any additional toppings. Check with the individual store manager for information on the finished product. Click here to view our Allergen statement.
Are these syrups vegetarian / vegan?
According to the syrup manufacturer, other than Cheesecake flavors (which contains a milk product ingredient) our syrups do not contain animal product. However, we have not paid to have a vegan certification company inspect the syrups due to high costs and the differences in these companies that do the certifications. We also recognize that vegan standards may go beyond the ingredients, taking into consideration the environment from which the ingredients come. Since we do not want to mislead our customers, we will not be claiming our syrups are vegan until the FDA sets official regulations and guidelines for us to reference. If you would like to see a list of ingredients on any of our flavors, please contact us and will be happy to send that to you.
Do these syrups contain nuts or other allergens?
Our syrups are free of nut allergens, as well as most common allergens. Click here to view our Allergen Declaration. Also consider that other parts of your treat may not be — the ice cream mix, cone, and any additional toppings. Check with the individual store manager for information on the finished product.
Where can I find the ingredients list for the syrup?
All syrups have an ingredient label on the bag itself. You can also view our full lineup of syrups and their ingredients in our Syrup Ingredients Statement.
What are the most popular flavors?
That can be a tricky question! See why by clicking here for more information on our popularity charts.
Can I request a custom flavor?
Because new syrups take time to create, test and produce and are made in batches of 100 gallons at a time, we will only consider custom flavor requests from chain accounts who can commit to fulfilling a minimum order.
Do you sell syrups in jugs or other containers?
No. Flavor Burst syrups are only sold in 1-gallon syrup bags with a special fitment, compatible with the Flavor Burst system they are intended for.
Can I use Flavor Burst syrups for products other than those made by Flavor Burst systems?
Technically, yes. But we cannot say for which products or how to use them outside the Flavor Burst equipment.
